Arrest Made in Shooting Near Huntley Meadows Park: Police
Police had tracked suspect using helicopter, K9 after shooting Tuesday morning; police say he chased the victim.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA -- Fairfax County Police said Friday they have made an arrest related to the shooting Tuesday on Miramonte Place near Huntley Meadows Park. Officers located a vehicle that was associated with a wanted man in the area of the 8300 block of Claremont Woods Drive (see map below), according to police.
Abdul-Aziz Rahman, 40, of Alexandria, was wanted for malicious wounding, use or display of a firearm while committing a felony, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon in relation to Tuesday shooting in the 3800 block of Miramonte Place. Police used the Fairfax 1 helicopter and K9s to try to track the suspect that morning.

Police say the victim was grazed by a bullet in the shooting and was sent to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Police said the suspect and victim were known to each other.
During their investigation, it was determined that the wanted man was inside a nearby home, police said. Rahman was arrested without incident and will be taken to the Adult Detention Center where the warrants will be served.
