Coaches' Corner: West Potomac Versus South County
The Wolverines face the Stallions in an away game Friday.

It’s almost time for Friday night football! Patch talked with football coach Jeremiah Davis and football coach Gerry Pannoni about the upcoming game.
Davis noted that, as in last week, West Potomac is again facing a team that went to the state championship game last year. The Stallions have good leadership and know how to win tough games, he said. The team also has good athletes in skilled positions and a quarterback who can run, throw and score, he noted.
“We will have our hands full defending their attack,” Davis said in an email. “Our keys to victory will be to control the ball play, great special teams and contain their athletes. We are not taking this game lightly and have had a great week of practice.”

Pannoni told Patch the Stallions have focused very hard on taking great angles for run fits and pushing the kids hard in pursuits.
“For us to be successful in the game, we have to control (running back) Pierson- El and (quarterback) Williams offensively; they are their big play guys,” Pannoni said. “Offensively, we have to control the ball and not leave any points on the field."
