FBI Offers $5,000 Reward in Richmond Highway Armed Robbery

The FBI is getting involved in the investigation of a hold-up last week of a beauty supply store, where a suspect pointed a gun at a child.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA -- The FBI is offering a $5,000 reward in the case of the suspect who held a gun on a child and two women during the hold-up Aug. 23 of a beauty supply store on Richmond Highway.

The FBI and the Fairfax County detectives from the Major Crimes Division are investigating the robbery, reported last Tuesday at 11:15 a.m., at Beauty Island, located at 7814 Richmond Highway. A man entered the store, displayed a handgun, and demanded money, police said. The suspect then forced two female employees and a 7-year-old girl into a back room before he fled with an undisclosed amount of cash. The victims were not injured.

"A reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to the identification, arrest and conviction of this robber is being offered. The FBI requests that anyone with information call the FBI at 202-278-2000," a wanted poster issued by the FBI Monday states.

Authorities describes the suspect as a black man, approximately 25 to 35 years old with a muscular build. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a black ski mask during the robbery, as well as a white shirt and black pants.
