Flood Warning In Effect For Fairfax County
Fort Hunt Could Accumulate two inches of rain

The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Warning for Fairfax County which will be in effect through 9:45 p.m. A flood warning means flooding is imminent or has been reported.
Moderate to heavy amounts of rain started this afternoon and will continue into the evening, according to the service. Expect total accumulations ranging from one to two inches, though certain areas may experience greater amounts. Small streams and creeks may rise beyond their banks and residents should take precautions.
Expect temperatures near 58 degreees, with winds around 14 mph.

Under a warning, streams will rise slowly and flash flooding is not expected, but residents should take necessary precautions. The Fairfax County Community Emergency Alert Network advises residents to stay alert for flood warnings and to take action should flooding develop.
