Huntington Park Murder: Third Suspect Charged

Police say three people are now facing charges in the murder of a 42-year old man whose body was found last August at Huntington Park.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA -- Police have charged a third individual with Second Degree Murder and Robbery in connection with the murder of Khalid Aboumalik on August 5, 2015, Fairfax County Police announced Thursday.

Aboumalik's body was found Aug. 5, 2015 in Huntington Park. He was 42. His body was found by residents passing by, who called police.

The latest person who was arrested is 18 years old now, but he was 17 at the time of the murder, police said. He was taken into custody Wednesday at his home shortly before 3 p.m. and transported to the Juvenile Detention Center for initial processing and then transferred to the Adult Detention Center, police said.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner determined that the Cause of Death was: Blunt Force Trauma to the head and Sharp Force Injuries to the Neck and Torso. No further arrests are expected.

Police arrested Michael Norman Powell, 19, last August. He was charged with Second Degree Murder. Another teen, then 17, was charged last October.
