  1. Burke & Herbert Bank has submitted an application to list its common stock on the Nasdaq Capital Market. The bank's first branch opened in Alexandria in 1852 and it is the oldest continuously-operating bank in the Washington, D.C. region. The move to the Nasdaq will increase trading volume, provide better liquidity for shareholders, and create greater visibility within the investor community. (WTOP)
  2. The Alexandria Police Department will begin deploying body-worn cameras in April 2023 to enhance transparency and accountability during interactions with the public. The deployment will be carried out gradually, with the goal of equipping all sworn personnel with cameras as part of their standard gear within a year. This move is aimed at increasing public trust in law enforcement and promoting greater transparency in policing. (The Zebra)
  3. Josh Bagley has been named the executive director of The View Alexandria, a senior living and healthcare services organization. Bagley previously served as the interim executive director of The View Alexandria since Goodwin Living acquired the retirement community in August 2022. The View Alexandria is located in the West End of Alexandria on a seven-acre campus and provides independent living, assisted living, and long-term nursing care to more than 100 residents.
