Mount Vernon Police: 29-Year-Old Man Stabbed

Also: Police arrested three men for breaking into a home

The following incidents were reported by the Mount Vernon Police District station from March 9th through March 16th.

Police say a 29-year-old man was stabbed by an acquaintance in Mount Vernon on the 3100 block of Furman Lane. The victim was stabbed in the upper body after an argument around 1 a.m. last Monday. He was transported to a local hospital with non life-threatening injuries. The suspect fled the scene and police are still investigating.

Police charged three men for breaking into a Mount Vernon home last Saturday at around 2:49 p.m. The three men were arrested after a brief pursuit following the break-in on the 8200 block of Claremont Woods Drive. Markus Gardner, 22, of Woodbridge, was charged with possession of marijuana, grand larceny and unlawful entry. Police charged Jotham Phillips, 21, of Birmingham, AL, with speed to elude, unlawful entry, driving on a suspended license, possession of marijuana, reckless driving and grand larceny. Terrence Wynder, 20, of the 3700 block of Rolling Hills Avenue in Alexandria, was charged with trespassing.
