MVCCA Votes 10-6 to Rescind Resolution Supporting Development of Bock Farm

Supervisor Storck plans to meet with a neighborhood group Thursday night and a protest is planned for Sunday over the development issue.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA -- Mt. Vernon Residents Against Rezoning reports on its blog that the Mount Vernon Council of Citizens Associations has voted 10 to 6 Wednesday night at the South County Center to rescind their June 22, 2016 resolution to support the Bock Farm rezoning.

The June 22, 2016 resolution and letter to the Board of Supervisors can be found on the MVCCA.org website.

“THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the MVCCA supports the development of this independent living complex providing the four way stop is installed and the developer returns to the MVCCA to resolve any environmental concerns.”

Mt. Vernon Residents Against Rezoning is not happy with plans drawn up for further rezoning that some say leaves too many questions of how the property will be developed. A vote, previously postponed, is set for Tuesday by the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors at the Fairfax County Government Center.

Meanwhile, Supervisor Storck is meeting with the Williamsburg Manor North Community Association Thursday night and a protest is planned for Sunday morning near the farm.

A change.org petition, "Petition for 'No' Vote on Rezoning Bock Farm," has 550 supporters.
