The Fairfax County Community Emergency Alert Network advises residents living in areas prone to flooding to be prepared to take action if flooding develops, such as parking cars on higher ground and moving items off basement floors.

The Network also advises drivers not to drive through stalled water, because “water may be much deeper than you think, causing your car to stall or even get stuck in hidden debris.”
