Suspect Charged in Assault, Breaking + Entering, Robbery: Police

Police say they also found a gun in his car while they were arresting him after incident in Hybla Valley area.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA -- An area man faces charges of robbery, breaking and entering, destruction of property and assault, Fairfax County Police said Thursday.

Police say the incident took place late Wednesday night just after 11:30 p.m. in the 7200 block of Fordson Road (see map below). Officers responded to a report of a man who had entered an apartment, assaulted the victims inside, and took property, which he destroyed, according to police. He then fled and officers were able to make contact with him. A search incident to arrest yielded a handgun in the suspect’s vehicle.

Kwaune Devante Marshall, 24, of the Alexandria area, was arrested, taken to the adult detention center, and charged with robbery, burglary, destruction of property, and three counts of assault. The victims did not require medical attention. It appears that the victims and the arrestee were known to each other prior to this event, police said.
