Visions for Vacancies: Huntington Club Condos

The Huntington Club Condominiums will get a complete overhaul in the next few years, including retail space.

The Huntington Club Condominiums are located at 2601 Indian Drive in Alexandria. The Comprehensive Plan amendment allowing for the redevelopment of the site was approved by the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors in February. The comprehensive plan amendment language allows for mixed use redevelopment to include residential, office, retail, and possible hotel with a total development of 2.5 million square feet.  

Huntington Club Condominium President Ross Irwin told Patch there is no fixed timeline for the project as of now. The Board of Directors is working towards an RFP late this year or in early 2014.

"Negotiation of a contract and rezoning of the property will probably take another three years, so the first construction is likely four years into the future, or later if any of these steps takes longer than expected," Irwin said.
