Audition for Local Community Choir

The Celebration Singers perform throughout the Woodbridge area.

Tired of singing in the shower? Audition for the Celebration Singers' fall concert season on Aug. 30 at Westminster at Lake Ridge.

"We are a group of about 30 men and women from all over the Lake Ridge/Woodbridge area who love to sing good music well.  Having just completed our first full year of concerts, we are trying to grow our ranks with talented voices," singer Bob Traube said.

The group rehearses a few hours every Tuesday evening, fall through spring, at Westminster at Lake Ridge.

"Our creative director, Terry Stackley, draws our music from a wide variety of sources and styles," Traube said. "We've done Bach chorales, show tunes, religious hymns, Christmas carols, American and Scottish folk ballads, and other fun music that is less easily characterized. This year Terry has a great repertoire lined up for us. I can't wait to begin practicing."

The group holds concerts throughout the Woodbridge area, including Westminster at Lake Ridge and Epiphany Lutheran Church on Dale Blvd.

"We are always looking for other suitable venues," Traube said.

As a nonprofit organization, the group takes donations and sponsors local charities. Last year, they sponsored Action in Community Through Service (ACTS).
