Police: Gun Brandished During Road Rage Incident

The suspect pulled in front of the victim's car on Lake Terrapin Drive, stopped, and pulled a gun out of his trunk, Prince William County Police said.

A Woodbridge man brandished a handgun after driving aggressively Wednesday evening, Prince William County Police said.

Mohammad Asad Ali, 25, of Leatherback Road, is charged with brandishing a firearm.

The 36-year-old victim, a Woodbridge resident, told police that he was driving near Minnieville Road and Silverdale Drive when he saw another vehicle driving aggressively.

"Both vehicles continued onto Lake Terrapin Dr where the suspect vehicle reportedly pulled in front of the victim’s car and stopped," police spokesman Officer Jonathan Perok said in a press release. "The other driver then exited his vehicle, retrieved a handgun from his trunk, and approached the victim."

The man did not assault the victim, police said. A witness gave police the tag number from the suspect's car. Police identified Ali as the driver after arriving at his home.

Ali's court date is set for Aug. 28.
