LCSO K9 Unit Gets Protective Vests

Loudoun County Friends of the NRA, the local chapter of the NRA Foundation, recently donated $3,500 to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office to pay for ballistic protection vests for its K9 unit.

The LCSO K9 unit now includes five dogs, all of which now will have vests. The K9 unit is assigned to the Operational Support Division and each dog is cross-trained for patrol work and narcotics detection.

“Our highly trained canines are often the first to enter a dangerous situation and now they will all have the protection they deserve,” Loudoun Sheriff Mike Chapman said in a press release.

Loudoun County Friends of the NRA purchased the vests from Velocity Systems Inc. in Dulles.
