Leesburg Police Seek Witnesses to Fatal Accident Friday

The rush hour crash on Catoctin Circle is under investigation with assistance from state police.

Leesburg Police investigators are asking witnesses who saw an accident shortly after 7:30 a.m. Friday morning along Catoctin Circle SE to contact the department.

Two cars were involved in the crash near 37 Catoctin Circle SE, and one male driver was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a report from the Leesburg Police Department. Another person was taken to Inova Loudoun Hospital’s Cornwall campus with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the report. Lanes on Catoctin were closed for several hours following the accident, and drivers were still encouraged to avoid the area late Friday morning.
