Martin Luther King Jr. Statue Unveiled At Town Hall In Leesburg

To help commemorate Black History Month, a statue of Martin Luther King Jr. was unveiled Monday in the lobby of the Leesburg Town Hall.

LEESBURG, VA—To help commemorate Black History Month, a statue of Martin Luther King Jr. was unveiled Monday in the lobby of Town Hall at 25 West Market Street. Approved Jan. 22 by town council, the statue will be on display until Feb. 28.

It's a replica of the 9-foot bronze statue at the Martin Luther King Library in Aurora, Colo. That one was designed by internationally known sculptor Jeff L. Hall. The Leesburg version is nearly eight feet high and weighs around 200 pounds.
