The first dish I will share with you guys this week is my crab soup. I know it sounds boring but man I'll tell you something, this soup is sure to grab the attention of the guests at your party.

6 cups of chicken broth

2 cups of lump crab meat

1 ½ cups of mixed vegetables (canned or frozen)

2 cups of spiral pasta

2 tablespoons of season salt

1 tablespoon of Old Bay seasoning

1 tablespoon of black pepper

1 teaspoon of garlic powder

1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper

1 teaspoon of onion powder

Pour the six cups of chicken broth into a large pot on the stovetop and turn the flame up to a medium temperature. Then add the mixed vegetables, crab and seasonings until the mixture comes to a boil.

Once the broth starts to boil, add the pasta. Let that cook for 5-7 minutes and then, serve it up in a bowl or a cup to your guests.

This is sure to be a crowd favorite at the party and if it's cold where you are and they're having fireworks outside, pour some of this into a cup and keep warm.

If you try this recipe, let me know how it turned out for you, or if you want to share one of your special dishes with me, send it onto andre.taylor@patch.com.

Until then people, have a safe and happy holiday season and remember, keep on burnin'!
