EnviroSolutions, Inc. Pledges $10,000 in Challenge Match For Workhouse Fundraising Effort

The Workhouse Arts Center is behind on fundraising efforts and ESI will match your contribution.

Lorton's Workhouse Arts Center is $30,000 short in fundraising for this fiscal year, and EnviroSolutions, Inc. (ESI) has offered to help make up the difference. The company, which owns the Lorton Landfill, is willing to contribute a 1-1 match for up to $10,000 of donations made to the Workhouse until the end of June.

The Workhouse has raised approximately $430,000 this fiscal year, which ends on June 30. The fundraising goal is $460,000.

"We're every close to the goal and it would be a shame not to mee it," said Conrad Mehan, Director of Government Relations and Community Affairs for ESI, who is also vice chair of the Lorton Arts Foundation, which operates the Workhouse.

"The Workhouse is not just an arts community, it's a center of education, and one would have to think what would the area look like without the Workhouse," said Mehan.

ESI is the Workhouses' largest donor, having contributed more than $40,000 this year alone.
