Photo of the Day: Picking Lottery Numbers in Lorton

Patch was writing at  in Lorton today and found Jason Laiying Hong deep at work with a magnifying glass and pen. Jason, who hails from China and works at the Hibachi restaurant in Fairfax, plays Mega Millions three times a week. 

He immediately knew about my camera. "That's a 5D Mark II, right?" he asked. "The lens - 70-200mm? What's the f-stop?"

Jason has lived in Fairfax County for a year. "Next month I go back to New York City and then back home to China," he said. "I play the lottery three times a week because finding the numbers is interesting to me." 

After a brief conversation with Patch about photography and life, Jason returned to his number-picking and we took this photo.
