South County Wrestlers Have Solid Weekend in South Carolina

Seven grapplers went unbeaten or had only one loss

The South County wrestling team hit the road this past weekend for the U.S. Navy Duals in Columbia, South Carolina. Undaunted by the seven and-a-half-hour drive, they suffered only one loss and it came at the hands of the number three-ranked team in the state of South Carolina. The Stallions are now 19-2 for the year in dual meets.

Standouts for South County were Hunter Manley (wrestling at 103), Tyler Howard (140), Christian Merino (160) and Aaron Musfeldt (171), all of whom went undefeated in their matches. Kabir Gill (112), Bilal Ali (119), and Blake Stein (145) each suffered only one loss over the weekend.

Manley in particular was stellar as he defeated three wrestlers ranked in the Top 6 in South Carolina at the 103-pound weight class.

Stallions coach Sean Anderson said, "A lot of our kids won because didn't overthink what they needed to do. They just went out and wrestled whoever was across from them."
