Lorton Library will celebrate Teen Read Week with free gifts and special events Monday, October 18 - Saturday, October 23.
On Wednesday, October 20, Officer Jim Reid of the Fairfax County Police Department will present Crime Scene Investigation. Teens will test their skills of observation as Officer Reid demonstrates "hands-on" investigation techniques. The program is open to students in grades 7 to 12. It will be held at Lorton Library from 4 to 5 p.m.
Each teen who comes to the library during the week and completes a book recommendation will receive a free gift. In addition, their name will be placed in a daily drawing for a free book. At the end of the week, one grand prize winner will receive a $20 gift card. Prizes are courtesy of the Friends of Lorton Library.
