
The National Weather Service (NWS) in the Metro DC Area has issued a high wind warning for Lorton today, it begins at 11 a.m. and last until 7 p.m. Here's the official statement from the NWS:
• Winds...Southwest 20 To 30 Mph With Gusts Around 50 Mph Late
Morning And Early Afternoon. Becoming West 25 To 35 Mph With
Gusts Around 60 Mph During Mid-Afternoon. Northwesterly By
Early Evening.
• Impact...Possibility Of Downed Trees...Large Branches And Power
Lines.

A Wind Advisory Means That Wind Gusts In Excess Of 45 Mph Are
Expected. Winds This Strong Can Bring Down Branches And Power
