Crime Blotter: $1,000 Copper Pipe Stolen, Three Hondas Vandalized

Recent incidents in the Manassas City Police jurisdiction.

Manassas City Police responded to the following recent crime reports. 

Larceny: At 1:30 p.m. June 3, a victim on the 8700 block of Quarry Road reported that someone cut and stole a 10-inch copper pipe from an air conditioning unit the previous weekend. The pipe’s removal caused an estimated $1,000 worth of damage to the unit. 

Vandalism to a vehicle: At 3 p.m. June 8, the owner of a Honda parked on the 9000 block of Sandalwood Drive reported that someone broke and removed a passenger side window. The victim said that the vandalism took place between 2 a.m. and 2 p.m. on June 8.

Vandalism to a vehicle: At 9 a.m. June 8, a Manassas City police officer was patrolling the area of Berkshire Street and found a 2001 Honda Civic with its driver side window broken and glass in the street. 

According to the victim and a witness, the window was broken sometime between 10 p.m. on June 7 and 9 a.m. on June 8. Upon further investigation, the officer discovered that a second Honda Civic (1999) in front of the first was also broken into on the driver side.

Larceny from a vehicle: Around 6 a.m. June 8, Manassas City Police officers responded to the 10300 block of Butternut Circle for a report of larceny. The victim reported that someone stole a Sony Head Unit and Sony Subwoofer sometime between 6 p.m. June 7 and 6 a.m. the following day.

The victim also reported a separate incident around May 27, in which his gas tank may have been pried open and sugar poured into his gas tank.
