Drunk Driver Flees Before Crashing Into Pole In Manassas: Police
A man was arrested after a police chase that ended when he smashed his vehicle into a utility pole in Manassas, according to PWC Police.

MANASSAS, VA—A man was arrested Feb. 19 after a chase that ended when he smashed his vehicle into a utility pole on Ellis Road, according to Prince William County Police. Pavol Leshchenko, 25, of the 9100 block of Weir Place in Manassas, was charged with felony eluding, driving under the influence (second offense in 10 years), driving after forfeiture of license, reckless driving, aggressive driving and possession of marijuana.
Around 4 p.m., an officer conducting speed enforcement in the 7100 block of Yates Ford Road spotted a vehicle speeding. He hit his lights and siren but the driver sped away onto Prince William Parkway. The officer lost sight of the vehicle when it turned onto Ellis Road.
Soon thereafter, Leshchenko hit another vehicle before smashing into a utility pole, causing it to break. Police determined he was intoxicated. Minor injuries were reported.
