Man Arrested For 2013 Sexual Assault Of Child In Manassas: Police

A man was arrested for sexually assaulting an 8-year-old girl in 2013 at a home in Manassas, according to Prince William County Police.

MANASSAS, VA—A man was arrested Monday for sexually assaulting an 8-year-old girl in 2013 at a home in Manassas, according to Prince William County Police. Cameron Thomas Blanton, 23, of the 600 block of Pocahontas Street in Williamsburg, was charged with object sexual penetration. He was being held without bond.

In September 2018, detectives with the Special Victims Bureau began investigating an alleged sexual assault that occurred in January 2013. They found that Blanton, then 17, sexually assaulted the girl while he was visiting family and friends.

The girl recently disclosed the assault to family members, and they contacted police. On Feb. 6, police obtained a warrant for Blanton's arrest, and he turned himself in to authorities in York County on Monday without incident.
