A man was arrested after assaulting a woman and then stabbing a man who tried to intervene in Manassas, say Prince William County Police.

MANASSAS, VA—A man was arrested Tuesday after assaulting a woman and then stabbing a man who tried to intervene in the 8000 block of Community Drive, according to Prince William County Police. Edwin Dono Osoria, 20, of the same address, was charged with one count of malicious wounding, one count of stabbing in the commission of a felony, two counts of domestic assault and battery and one count of destruction of property.

Around 8 a.m., police went to the home for a reported domestic incident. They found that Osoria was involved in an argument with a 41-year-old woman—a family member—that escalated, during which he assaulted her on the head and body. When a 22-year-man tried to intervene, Osoria grabbed a knife and cut him on the hand.

The woman was taken to a local hospital for treatment of her injuries, and Osoria was arrested without incident.
