Missing Gainesville Man Found Safe In Alaska: UPDATE

UPDATE: A man reported missing Jan. 31 has been found safe in Anchorage, Alaska, according to Prince William County Police.

UPDATE: Authorities announced Sunday that Eli Joseph has been found safe in Anchorage, Alaska, per Prince William County Police.

GAINESVILLE, VA—Authorities have released new information regarding a man reported missing Jan. 31 and who may be endangered, according to the Prince William County Police. Eli Joseph Blahut, who now is thought to be in the Anchorage, Alaska area, is described as white, 31, 5-5, 165 pounds with blue eyes and brown hair.

He was last seen 2 p.m. Jan. 25 in the Woodbridge area after leaving a location on Ashton Avenue in the Manassas area of Prince William County. During the investigation, police found that Blahut used an ATM at a Bank of America in Arlington at around 4:30 p.m. Jan. 25. Shortly after the transaction, he bought a plane ticket to Anchorage.

Blahut, of Hastenbeck Drive in Gainesville, is believed to be missing under voluntary circumstances but police "continue to be concerned for his safety." Anyone with information is urged to call police at 703-792-6500.
