President and CEO Robert Sweeney Announces Departure, Kristi Black Joins Chamber as Director of Government Affairs (princewilliamliving.com) — Manassas-area businesses will see leadership changes at the Prince William Chamber of Commerce as President and CEO Bob Sweeney steps down and a search begins for his successor. At the same time, longtime local resident Kristi Black joins as Director of Government Affairs, aiming to advocate for pro-business policies that support companies in Prince William, Manassas, and Manassas Park.
   

2. Prince William Living Influential Women Awards Nominee: Kathy Schumer (princewilliamliving.com) — A local quilting leader and veteran is being honored in the 2026 Influential Women Awards for work that benefits Greater Prince William, including Manassas and Manassas Park. Her volunteerism supports students, veterans, and multiple quilting guilds, while strengthening ties with local schools and charities. Residents can celebrate her and other nominees at Sweeney Barn on March 5.
   

3. It's Time to Apply for 2026 Scholarships at the Community Foundation for Northern Virginia (princewilliamliving.com) — Manassas students can now apply for 2026 scholarships from the Community Foundation for Northern Virginia, which serves Manassas and Manassas Park among other localities. With more than 30 funds offering $1,200–$5,000 awards, some renewable up to four years, local high-schoolers have until March 5 to submit applications online.
   

4. State police seek public's help in locating driver in fatal hit-and-run (thebanner.com) — A 30-year-old Manassas resident was killed in a hit-and-run on I-695 near Baltimore after stepping out of a vehicle involved in an earlier crash, according to Maryland State Police. Investigators are searching for a red 2025 Chevy Equinox with likely front and passenger-side damage and are asking the public for tips as they track rising pedestrian fatality numbers.
   

5. Conservation groups file legal brief against ‘monstrous' Digital Gateway (princewilliamtimes.com) — A major legal fight continues over the Prince William Digital Gateway, a huge data center project planned beside Manassas National Battlefield Park that conservation groups call “monstrous.” Six organizations have filed a brief backing a judge’s decision to cancel the rezonings, arguing the complex would damage historic landscapes, strain power and water resources, and harm visitors’ experience at the Manassas battlefield.
