PWC-Area Schools Make Cold Calls For Thursday, Jan. 30

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VA—Amid our super-cold weather blast, area public school systems have altered their schedules for Thursday, Jan. 31. To wit:

• "Manassas Park City Schools will open two hours late tomorrow, Thursday, January 31, 2019."
• "All PWCS will be closed on January 31, due to predictions of dangerously cold temperatures and icy road conditions in certain areas. Code red for employees. SACC will not open. All scheduled activities are cancelled. These precautions will ensure the safety of all students from potential frostbite conditions, especially the thousands who walk to school. Telework subject to policy."
• "All Manassas City Public Schools will be closed, Thursday, January 31, 2019 due to the extremely low temperatures and remaining icy conditions in certain areas. CODE GRAY for 12 month employees. Offices will open at 10 am. (Additional Note: The All-City Chorus Concert will be rescheduled. Once a new date is determined, students and parents will be contacted.)"
