Sexual Assault Of Child Under 10 In Manassas Area Leads To Charge

MANASSAS, VA — A man is facing charges for a sexual assault of a victim under age 10 in the Manassas area, according to Prince William County Police.

Detectives charged James Eugene Edwards Sr., 58, of Sterling, Friday after an investigation into a sexual assault between January 2023 and February 2024. According to police, the suspect was known to the victim and inappropriately touched the victim in the Manassas 20109 ZIP code. The victim was under 10 at the time of the assault.

Edwards was charged with aggravated sexual assault and was held on a $25,000 secured bond. A court date is pending.
