“We believe we have an outstanding community and a well-managed HOA. CAI awards help to validate that belief. In addition, simply applying for an award forces an association to take a critical look at itself—never a bad thing,” William F. Pierce, chair, community relations committee of Heritage Hunt Homeowners Association Inc., Gainesville, Va., which was named 2010 Communicator of the Year and Very Large Community Association of the Year runner up.
Entries are judged on abilities such as strategic planning and goal setting, implementing crime prevention initiatives, preparing for emergencies, resolving dispute between residents, achieving an environmentally sound community and much more. Award-winning associations will exemplify harmonious living and prosperity to those residing in community associations. These communities serve as models for others to draw ideas from and emulate.
