City Deems Community Center a Cool Haven During Heat Wave

City opens "cooling center" for those without air conditioning.

Manassas Park residents without air conditioning are welcome to come to the Manassas Park Community Center today and Friday to seek shelter from soaring tempertures, according to a press release issued Thursday morning by city officials.

The community center has been designated as the city's "cooling center."

The decison was made in light of the National Weather service issuing an excessive heat warning in effect this afternoon and Friday, Manassas Park city manager James "Jim" Zumwalt said in the press release.
