DMV Goes Mobile, Moves Like Mick Jagger and the Number of the Day

Five things you need to know today in Manassas Park.

It’s Friday, July 26. Here are five things you need to know. Tell us what we need to know on the Patch message board!

1. Today: The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles mobile office makes its way to Manassas Park today from 9 to 4 p.m. Read more about the visit here.

2. You Said It: “The poor little bees don't have a fighting chance.” — A report of a mosquito with West Nile in Prince William County prompted this response from Sheila Beaty. “I worry more about the chemicals they spray,” she wrote.  “I have a honey Bee hive in our back yard. Between what the county sprays and neighbours and their Round Up for weed control. The poor little bees don't have a fighting chance. If they are worried about west nile and Mosquitoes… Get some BUG Zappers.”

4. Number of the Day: $15 million. That’s the estimated cost in 1991 for a proposal to normalize school hours on Mondays in Fairfax County. Students are currently released early to allow for teacher planning. Officials are again considering the move. It’s expected the price has likely climbed.
