Grab and Go: Aug. 9 Edition

There’s a lot going on around Manassas and Manassas Park this week, so be sure to get out of the house and enjoy your summer days and nights while you still have them. Fall is fast approaching.
- Head over to the Central Community Library and pick up August’s monthly mind bender contest form and complete it with the whole family. This month’s topic is “Fun at the Beach.” You could win a new book if you submit your correct answers! The contest ends on Aug. 31.
- Make a craft and enjoy the “Fun in the Laboratory” theme of the Together at Twilight event at Bull Run Regional Library Wednesday at 7 p.m.

- Find some treats at the Manassas Farmers’ Market in Old Town Manassas on Thursday from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
- Check out the Fabulous Fun Fair at Central Community Library on Aug. Thursday at 10:30 a.m.

- Decorate the sidewalks of Bull Run Regional Library with chalk on Saturday at 1 p.m.
- Encourage your children to participate in the Kids Tri Too 2 mini triathlon at Freedom Aquatic and Fitness Center on Sunday at 7:30 p.m. or the Kids Can Du duathlon on Sunday at 8:30 a.m.
- School sports are starting again for the 2011-2012 seasons. Support the local middle and high school celebrities by attending a sporting event:
- Manassas Park High School junior varsity and varsity volleyball scrimmage at Park View High School on Saturday at 9 a.m.
- Manassas Park high School varsity football scrimmage at Stonewall Jackson High School – Quicksburg on Saturday at 10 a.m.
