1. Today: Volunteers are needed to greet World World II veterans at Dulles International Airport. The vets are arriving on an Honor Flight from Chicago to spend the day in the District visiting the World War II memorial. Volunteers should arrive by 9:30 a.m. at the airport. 5. Today…in History: On Aug. 7, 2007, Barry Bonds hit his 756th home run, breaking the record set by Hank Aaron. Bonds’ career ended that same year under the cloud of a steroids scandal. His record still stands at 762.
