Manassas Park Police are trying to determine who shot a family cat through the neck with an arrow this month, according to a press release issued Monday by the city police department.

It happened on the 100 block of Martin Drive on Aug. 1 when a family member came home and found an arrow through the neck of the cat.
The cat was taken to the veterinarian, who removed the arrow and treated the animal.

The arrow was given to investigators as evidence, according to the release.
The cat is expected to survive its injuries.
