Seven People Displaced By Fire in Yorkshire Town Homes

Prince William County firefighters said blaze started on second floor, caused $30,000 in damage.

A fire that began in the upper floors of a group Yorkshire town homes Sunday evening has displaced several people, Prince William County firefighters said.

The blaze started at 6:56 p.m. in a three-story townhouse complex on the 8100 block of Cobble Pond Way in the Yorkshire community, just outside of Manassas Park.  Firefighters responded after a resident smelled smoke, went to investigate, saw the developing fire and called E-911, according to a press release issued Monday morning by the Prince William County Fire and Rescue.

The blaze was quickly brought under control and outed by firefighters while the Red Cross assisted the five adults and two children that found themselves without a home as a result of the fire.
