Thieves Siphon Gas From Vehicle

A man told police someone stole the fuel right out of his car's tank this month.

Soaring gas prices have apparently caused some people to turn to stealing fuel—not from gasoline stations— but right out of vehicles.

Manassas Park Police are investigating an incident where someone stole about $40 in gas from a car parked on the 100 block of Denver Drive.

The victim told police that sometime between May 6 and May 8 someone siphoned some 10 gallons of gas from his Jeep Liberty.

The victim said his vehicle's gas tank was three-fourths full when he parked his car.

When he came back, the gas needle indicated his car's tank was only one-fourth of the way full and he hadn't driven anywhere, according to police reports.
