Here are the top three stories in Norfolk today:

1. The Attic, a gift shop on Shore Drive in Norfolk, announced on Thursday that it will be closing in June due to a 60 percent rent increase. The increase would cost Angel Sharples, the owner, an additional $1,300 per month. “At that amount of rent increase, there’s no way that we could sustain being here,” she said. (3 WTKR)
2. A Norfolk State University student was left with superficial injuries after being struck by a bullet that ricocheted off the ground in a parking lot yesterday afternoon around 3:15 p.m. The incident happened in Lot 14A and is under investigation. (Wavy.com)
3. Two people were shot Thursday night in the 2800 block of St. Mihiel Avenue in Norfolk. The injured victims, a man and woman, walked into Sentara Norfolk General Hospital after the shooting, said Norfolk police. The injuries were not life-threatening. (WAVY.com)
