Here are the top three stories in Norfolk today:
- The Attic, a gift shop on Shore Drive in Norfolk, announced on Thursday that it will be closing in June due to a 60 percent rent increase. The increase would cost Angel Sharples, the owner, an additional $1,300 per month. “At that amount of rent increase, there’s no way that we could sustain being here,” she said. (3 WTKR)
- A Norfolk State University student was left with superficial injuries after being struck by a bullet that ricocheted off the ground in a parking lot yesterday afternoon around 3:15 p.m. The incident happened in Lot 14A and is under investigation. (Wavy.com)
- Two people were shot Thursday night in the 2800 block of St. Mihiel Avenue in Norfolk. The injured victims, a man and woman, walked into Sentara Norfolk General Hospital after the shooting, said Norfolk police. The injuries were not life-threatening. (WAVY.com)
