Bomb Threat Prompts Evacuation Of Suffolk High School: Police

Tuesday's threat marked the second one this week for Lakeland High School in Suffolk, according to a report.

SUFFOLK, VA — A bomb threat prompted the evacuation of Lakeland High School in Suffolk on Tuesday, just one day after a similar threat was made against the school.

The Suffolk Police Department and Suffolk Fire & Rescue responded to the school just before 9:20 a.m., police said in a news release.

Tuesday's threat follows a similar one made Monday, the Suffolk News-Herald reported. Authorities evacuated the school and a student was taken into custody; however, officials searched the school and found no threat, according to the News-Herald.

Police were also called to the school last Thursday after multiple fights in the cafeteria prompted a lockdown, the News-Herald reported. No one was injured in the brawls.
