Here are the top three stories today in Norfolk:

  1. Connor Jewell, an active-duty U.S. Navy service member, put up a big white sign in front of his Chesapeake Boulevard house in Norfolk that reads: "Do not buy that house before talking to me." The sign points to the house next door that is owned and being rehabbed by Mozart Investment LLC, a real estate investment company. Jewell said the sign is a warning to people because of the major plumbing issues he and his wife have had since purchasing the property. (WAVY.com)
  2. Navy divers recovered the E-2D Hawkeye aircraft that crashed last month in the waters off the Eastern Shore. The crash killed Lieutenant Hyrum Hanlon who reported to the Norfolk-based VAW-120 in January 2021. Divers cut the plane into sections that were lifted into barges and taken from the area. (WAVY.com)
  3. A male motorcyclist sustained life-threatening injuries after a collision with a truck. The crash happened around 8 a.m. on Thursday morning in the 2300 block of Ingleside, just off E. Princess Anne Road. The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital. (WAVY.com)
