Former First Lady of Virginia Speaks at Oakton Library

The Friends of Oakton Library and New Providence Republican Women’s Club hosted guest speaker Roxane Gilmore, former first lady of Virginia on April 26.

Gilmore spoke about the restoration of the Virginia Governor’s House, which is the topic of her new book. She offered fascinating insight into the history, architectural and design features of the house, and signed copies of her book for those in attendance.

The Women’s Club also presented a signed copy of Restoring the Virginia Governor’s House to Jerilyn Polson, representing Fairfax County Public Library. The donated copy will be placed in the Virginia Room of Fairfax Regional Library.
