Oakton High Girls Basketball Receive Resolution in their Honor

Dels. Mark Keam (D-35th District) and Jim LeMunyon (R-67th District) presented a resolution Friday to commend the Oakton High School girls basketball team for their historic Virginia High School League AAA championship win.

The Cougars, including Coach Fred Priester and Principal John Banbury, traveled to Richmond to be recognized in person.

"This has been an incredible year for Oakton High School and we should all be proud of the accomplishments of these amazing young athletes who worked so hard to achieve the victories," Keam said. "First, the girls’ swim and dive team wins statewide championship while the boys’ swim team came in second place. Then the girls’ basketball comes in first place. What a time to be a Cougar fan!"
