Dels. Mark Keam (D-35th District) and Jim LeMunyon (R-67th) honored the Oakton High girls swim and dive team for their Wednesday.
The girls program earned the state title for the first time in school history after achieving the Concorde District and Northern Region titles in their undefeated season.
The House of Delegates unanimously adopted House Joint Resolution 527, sponsored by Keam and LeMunyon along with Dels. David Bulova (D-34th) and Tom Rust (R-86th), to commend the team for its championship performance. All four delegates represent constituents who attend Oakton High.

"The entire General Assembly is proud of the athletic and academic accomplishments of Oakton High School, and we wanted to recognize this special occasion with a Joint Resolution adopted by the House and Senate," said Keam, who wore a burgundy and gold tie in honor of the Cougars. "As the Delegate who lives down the street from Oakton High, I am honored to represent these incredible young Virginians who will lead our Commonwealth for years to come."
Coach , who capped off his first year as head coach with a state win for the girls and a second-place finish for the boys, and the swim team made the trip to Richmond for the honor.

The team then showed its support for the Oakton High girls basketball team as they at the Siegel Center in Richmond.
