On Sunday afternoon, June 10, 2012, from 1 to 5 p.m., the Unity of Fairfax Church in Oakton (next door to the Oakton Library) will host a Fairfax County Storm Water Watershed Friendly Garden Tour. The church was chosen by the Northern Virginia Soil and Water Conservation District as one of nine sites throughout Fairfax County to be included in this special event where participants drive to their selected sites. You are invited to participate in this free tour and learn about storm water management. This is an excellent opportunity for all members of the family to learn about green roofs, detention ponds, riparian buffers, pollinator gardens and native plants right here close to home.
