Boys Earn Win on the Road

The Flint Hill boys basketball team bounced back from three tough, close losses to defeat highly ranked Middleburg Academy on the road 70-67. 

The Huskies overcame a double-digit deficit in the second half. Senior point guard Mortimer Berchie led the team with 28 points (13 of 14 from the free throw line) and eight assists. Junior forward Chrystian Brown contributed 17 points off the bench including three 3-point field goals. Senior forward Andy Rehberger was the catalyst with 13 points, six rebounds and five assists. Senior forwards Brian McDonald and Daniel Giguere had excellent defensive games and chipped in with 7 rebounds each.

The win improves the Huskies record in the Mid-Atlantic Athletic Conference to 5-6.

The Huskies will celebrate Senior Night at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

Girls Defeat Holton-Arms for Second Time This Season

The girls basketball team came out with a home victory Tuesday night, defeating Holton-Arms 69-56 to improve their Independent School League record to 9-4.

The Huskies dominated throughout, entering halftime with a 41-29 lead. Four players tallied points in the double-digits, with Nicole Freeman leading the way with 20, netting six 3-pointers. Following behind were teammates Alison Bragaw-Butler with 18, Alex Long with 14 and Shea Patrick with 13.

The Huskies will play their last game of the regular season at home 6 p.m. Tuesday with a matchup against Georgetown Visitation, who is undefeated in the ISL.
