BRYC '95 Elite Win National Tournament

U-16 girls soccer squad upset California team in U.S. Youth Soccer National Championship Series

After losing to the MVLA Lightning (Calif.) two days before, the Braddock Road Youth Club '95 Elite U-16 girls soccer team came back to win a 1-0 nail-biter for the U.S. Youth Soccer National Championship title last month.

Though the Lightning had kept its opponents scoreless throughout the tournament in Rock Hill, S.C., the Elite's Adrienne Maday scored the game-winning goal in the 71st minute, according to the Rock Hill Herald.

Maday and Kahla Seymour led the Elite with three goals in the tournament, tying three other players from two other teams for the most individual goals.

Earlier this season, the Elite won the Virginia State Cup and the Region I title.
