Fair Oaks District Officers of the Year: Ron Haas & D.J. Faulk

The Officers of the Month for April earn the year-end honor

Officers Ron Haas and D.J. Faulk, of the neighborhood watch unit, earned the distinction of Fair Oaks District's 2011 Officers of the Year.

The officers received the honor because of their work on a case that led to an arrest of a man in the Fair Lakes area accused of trafficking and selling a large amount of methamphetamines.

Haas previously earned the title in 2009. The Fair Oaks Citizen Advisory Committee honored the officers at the Dec. 6 meeting.

Since their award in April, the case developed further, with the suspect being arrested again, and Haas and Faulk continued to work on it.

"They're patrol officers on a bike team, and they took the case as far as they could. They did a great job working it all the way through," said Lt. Jay Carson, who supervises Haas and Faulk.

Jim Clifton, CAC president, said it was a tough process figuring out who to choose for the year-end honor.

"I think these two stood out because it wasn't just one thing they did. They had to do continued work on the case, so we're honoring that," Clifton said.
