The Oakton High girls tennis team started its season with a dominant performance over Herndon High on Tuesday, defeating the Hornets 9-0.
Katie Clark (No. 1), Alina Suyama (2), Varsha Bhargava (3) and Lily Moens (6) all held their singles opponents scoreless. Taleen Avedisian and Annalise Capalbo each won their singles matches 10-2.
Clark and Suyama teamed up for doubles and again did not allow a point. Moens worked with Demi Chang to win their doubles match 10-3, while Avedisian and Lucia Colombi won 10-1.
