The Fairfax County Park Authority Board voted to limit unpermitted groups on county athletic fields to 20 people, including spectators.

Those who support the amendment say it will help clamp down on problems permitted users have — such as intimidation — when they confront unpermitted users who are occupying the field at their assigned time slot.

Those who oppose it say it will clamp down on their ability to have spontaneous fun with their family and friends on the athletic fields when county leagues are not using them.

Is this amendment just one more thing keeping kids and families from having outdoor fun? Or is it a good solution in helping to keep families safe?
